A. Harström is an artist and ceramicist based in Stockholm and on Gotland. With ceramics as the main material, the work centers around an explorative approach to form and function. Her practice is direct, intentional and in constant movement. Hands, arms and core. Minerals shifting from soft to solid. It’s a dance with clay. Objects take shape and become an extension of the artist.
The sculptural and everyday objects of A. Harström have been an ongoing practice for the last decade. While some shapes are temporary, others are integrated to her lasting routes, such as Creatures of Mud/Heart of Stone and Double Walls, which first emerged during her Bachelor of Fine Art, Ceramics and Glass at Konstfack University.
Since 2016, A. Harström’s objects have been collected by people from the Nordics and all the way to Japan, and been featured in magazines such as Vouge Scandinia and Residence Magazine. She has had collaborations with other artists and made a collection together with LI-AN-LO studio.
