Objects of Rituals

A. Harström reminisces of the rituals of early life and the rituals of her practice. Small artefacts passed from one child’s hand to another, through play and exploration. Changing owners and in that act, becoming something new. Then, there’s the ceramic artist. Sculpting objects through repetition. Each shape taking form and inspiring the next one.

For A. Harström’s 10th year as an artist and ceramicist, she has created a series of ten objects. The numbered pieces are crafted with intention, each receiving its own form and function. Like totems, they are tied together, yet stand on their own. In the ritual of choosing yours or letting it find you, it is imbued with meaning. Thus, becoming objects of rituals.
